In traditional painting, impasto uses thick layers of paint that retain the marks of a brush or palette knife. At Art by Butter, we translate that technique into our own edible medium. We spread, layer, and sculpt butter with palette knives, keeping each expressive ridge and sweep visible. Light catches the raised surfaces, giving every canvas dimension and a sense of movement.
